secondary data to repeating table to concat string

Is there a way to create a concatinated string from a repeating table when the tables content is based on secondary data.

Example would be, repeating table with 10 rows,  populated with three columns from a secondary data connection (sharepoint list). depending if the row was selected or not, I would like to select say, 3 rows and send the ID from those rows to a concatnated string.

The examples on the forum, make reference to the Main data, not the secondary data.

    Thanks

Yes, this should be entirely possible.  Have you made an attempt to do this yet, and if so, what issues did you encounter?

Thanks for the response. By the way, I hope your date stamp is off on your machine!

Attached is the form in its most simplest form. I left the rule in that was throwing me an error.

Basically, the secondary data, 3 columns, id, descript, and check box.  Check box sets rule to post " id" to "rowid" field.

Rule1: "Rowid" trips the rule "if checkbox =yes" "concat(rowidconcat,",",Rowid). And my string grows nicely as expected, problem is if I uncheck the box can't remove the "id".

Rule2: "Rowid" trips the rule "if checkbox =no" "concat(rowidconcat,",",-Rowid).  Obviously the -rowid causes an " NaN". Not sure how to subtract the rowid, if its already been added to the concat string.

    Your thoughts?

Please try the attached form.  Since I can't connect to your data source, I created a similar setup in the main data source.  I removed the rules on the rowid field, removed the condition on the IOR field, and changed the action on the IOR field.  The formula I came up with is:

    substring(xdMath:Eval(xdMath:Eval(../../dfs:Inventory_Master_List[@IOR = "yes"], 'concat(", ", @ID)'), ".."), 2)

    Speechless......

You have forgotten, more that I will ever know.

    Thanks!

OK,  you performed a bit if magic that I'm missing here. If I select the FX button and wish to edit the value say from "yes" to "no" I'm flagged with an error, "A filter cannot be applied to the currently selected field. Select different field." Is this something you typed in a text editor and just pasted to the value field, without the fx button?

    Thanks a plenty!

I have come across the issue where the values are not retained in the string once I close and reopen the file. Makes sense, they come back on the next selection of a row. Is there a trick to add a checkbox outside of the table to trigger a refresh, short of toggling the table rows? Or is there a way to retain the data at the form level?

Jimmy, Others?Any suggestions on how to add a qualifier to this "substring(xdMath:Eval(xdMath:Eval(../../dfs:Inventory_Master_List[@IOR = "yes"], 'concat(", ", @ID)'), ".."), 2)". This statement is working well, but It's picking up everything that is in the column with a "yes". I need to get it more specific to the form that sets the field to "yes". I have not been successful in conditionally formatting this at the form level. I experimented with an "and" statement with no good results.I would like to associate it to the form ID or some other constant?Any suggestions.
