Forms Services vs. Access Services in Sharepoint 2010

What do you think the impact of having Access Services in Sharepoint 2010 will have on the use of Forms Services and (InfoPath for browser forms) in the future?

    Hi Almond Paste,

One of my good friends is an Access MVP and we need to have this discussion. Without really understanding Accesss Services, I will go out on a limb here and say that Access and InfoPath are very different forms editors. InfoPath is based on XML. Access is not. InfoPath views are HTML. Access views are not. Because of these differences, InfoPath is a better electronic form document for your business processes and for Web Services. Access, on the other hand, is a great solution for people building relational database solutions in SharePoint. It has a good Forms Editor but it is more geared towards Database Admin types whereas InfoPath presents a lower barrier to entry for business process admin types. Just my two cents though ....

    Thanks for asking!
