 real easy if you are using a button in the same row.

         Public Sub buttonOne_Clicked(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As ClickedEventArgs)
            Dim xX As XPathNavigator = e.Source.CreateNavigator
            Dim x1 As XPathNavigator = xX.SelectSingleNode("my:s_txtAutoNumber", NamespaceManager)
         End Sub

 when i try the same action using the Changed event of a text box, i don't get the same result.

        Public Sub s_txtBoxOne_Changed(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As XmlEventArgs)
            Dim nav1 As XPathNavigator = MainDataSource.CreateNavigator()
            Dim xx1 As XPathNavigator = nav1.SelectSingleNode("my:s_txtAutoNumber", NamespaceManager)
       End Sub

is there a better way of handling the Changed event of the text box or can i call the button clicked event from the text box?

try e.Site.CreateNavigator()

any reason why this would be a bad idea?

            xxPath.MoveToParent()

what do you want to achieve..

 was trying to get the value of the current row in a repeating table.

 it works...
