How do you clear a richtext box?

Sounds simple. I've tried with rules setting the field to nothing.  The field begins to act strange.  After I enter text into the field and select my post button--my managed code error routine detects that there is nothing in the Rich Text Field.  Sure Enough, when I come back it's empty.  It will stall if I enter it a second time.

    I've tried

Trick: Clear or reset fields in InfoPath using only 3 lines of code

    http://www.bizsupportonline.net/blog/2009/08/clear-reset-fields-infopath-3-lines-code/

Wierd things get put in rich text fields like "\n      "

Any clues how to tame this bease in InfoPath 2007.  I just want to clear the field.

    thanks,

    Stephan

I just tried clearing a rich text box with a simple rule to set the field's value to nothing, and it works fine. What do you mean by "The field begins to act strange"?

Of course, I tried with a simple, blank, new InfoPath form, and your form may not be as simple as that, especially when dealing with browser forms that contain code.

Thanks my problem may be related with the autopost back on the control.  When I removed the setting and got rid of my XML Event Handlers the field cleared normally.

    thank-you again
