Accessing Subfolders via secondary data connection

I have a secondary data connection set up to get data from a sharepoint form library.  However the data stored in the form library is divided up into 2 subfolders.  The data connection only seems to look at the files in the root of the library (if I copy some files from the subfolders into the root, it sees them just fine).  I need it to look at one (or both is OK) subfolders in the library.  When I try to add the subfolder to the path of the data source, it won't let me.

    Can someone help?

    Thanks,

Folders in document libraries are an interesting case, as the folder itself is just another item in the document library. If you try navigating to a document library folder directly in a browser (ie: http://contoso/MyLibrary/MyFolder), you’ll get a 404 Not Found, which is why making a data connection directly to the folder will not work: it doesn’t actually exist. Without the ability to override the default view, what you want is unfortunately not possible in InfoPath 2007. However, you can get all documents using the new SharePoint List connection in InfoPath 2010 thanks to the ability to override the default view

I thought that was the answer. Thanks for the confirmation. I will have to rethink how I indicate status (the folder structure was simpler, but less databasey...). Oh, well.

     Hello,

I am working on a solution..what i am trying is using SPD activities in codeplex..in that you can access the inner XML of infopath forms..use event handler to track your specific condition and then fire up the SPD workflow and change whatever inside the infopath you want to change  and then apply conditional formatting. but if you are just trying to access the data connection in folders it won't work...i am just working on the inner details now..will let  you know if i find it to be good solution.

    Thanks
