Hello,
I'm new to InfoPath, but i'm not sure whether this is a newbie question or a SharePoint question.
I'll explain the situation:
I have a browser-enabled InfoPath form, just plain and simple.
This form needs to be published as a content type on a specific site collection, we'll name it FormSiteCollection.
There is another site collection that has subsites that need to use this content type, we'll name this ProjectSiteCollection.
These subsites are based on a site definition and are created for each project, pretty normal situation.
To use the content type in the ProjectSiteCollection, I need to re-create this content type and point to the XSN on the FormSiteCollection.
Still nothing special.
But I have a button in my Form with the name "Save".
When this button is pressed, there are 2 rules fired. One to submit the data using a data connection, the other is a standard one to close the form.
The data connection I created using "Tools" -> Data Connections.
Settings:
Document Library: http://testURL/FormLib
Filename: concat("Project"; Projectcode, ID)
Still nothing special I guess.
Now my question: When I use this content type on my project sites... I want to create a new form, fill it... and then save it in the specific document library of that projectsite with the filename I created for the data connection. But my guess would be that this Save action will save the document in the Document Library I have set in the data connection.... not in the Document Library i'm currently in...
Is this true? Or will it save in the Document Library I'm currently in?
If it saves to one specific document library..... Is there a possibility to make this Document Library dynamic, or retrieve the one o'm currently in, without using code for my form?
The option "without code" is so I won't need administrator approval for this form. Since there is no code based on this form. Just workflows based on SharePoint Designer, Visual Studio 2008 and SharePoint 2007 itself.
I'm sure more people have come to this problem so I hope you can help.
Thanks!
Jeroen.
