Hello,
I have been trying to get a very basic form to submit the data to a sharepoint list.
1. The form has two controls, both of them text boxes.
2. They are called "Project" and "FileStorage"
3. An xml for the CAML template is as follows:
<Batch OnError="Continue">
<Method ID="1" Cmd="New">
<Field Name="Project" />
<Field Name="FileStorage" />
</Method>
</Batch>
4. A data source (receive) was created for this xml file.Include the data as a resource file..., and automatically retrieve data were checked.
5. A data source (receive) to the sharepoint list required.
6. A new control was created. This is called "ListItem"
7. The value of the ListItem is mapped to the GUID of the Sharepoint List I am attempting to submit to.
8. A data source (submit) was created to the "../_vti_bin/lists.asmx" for the web service related to the site where the sharepoint list resides. This is called "New Project Submit"
9. This put the List Name parameter to the control "ListItem".
10. Updates was set to Batch.
11. It uses the option "XML subtree, including selected element."
12. Submit button was added to the form - it's action was to submit.
13. The submit options were to perform custom action using rules.
14. The rules it carries out is to submit using the data connection "New Project Submit"
It is a simple form that just wants to submit to the list. There is no reading of the data in return etc - I just want it to submit.
When I preview the form - I can enter the values and submit. I then get the following response:
"Infopath cannot submit the form. Some rules were not applied."
The detail then states this:
InfoPath cannot submit the form.
An error occurred while the form was being submitted.
The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:
Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown.
<detail><errorstring xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">Value does not fall within the expected range.</errorstring></detail>
Does anybody have any idea what this means and where I should be looking to rectify this please?
Sincerely,
scparker
