    Trying to understand product capabilities

Hello, I am new to this product and have a general approach type question and would like to understand if DBXL would work in the manner below with a browser only form within Sharepoing and Forms Services

We have an existing application that we are investigating moving  to SharePoint and InfoPath (with Qdabra DBXL products for the 'middleware' ). The app has an existing SQL database with standard relational linkages and views. As the existing table has thousands of existing records we need to design a browser only based form that would allow the user to enter some 'index' value, hit a button (or event trigger) then have an action that retrieves the record into the form  (via webservice if possible).  This user should be able to then save any modifications to the existing data back to SQL without saving the raw xml form data in sharepoint (or deleting it after a 'shred' ? operation)

It seems that this should be possible but am I missing something?

The icing on the cake would be a easy way to call the form in sharepoint with an querystring parameter that would lauch the form which would 'see' the querystring and retreive the data. Any ideas for bonus points. We do with with the existing .Net app but I'm just not that familiar with SharePoint and InfoPath and see some note indicating that form 'code' in not available out of the box in DBXL.

    Thanks in advance..

    Hi Kent,

Thanks for your interest in DBXL.  I see you downloaded the trial version of DBXL over the weekend.

I think it would be helpful to understand your scenario a little more but it does sound like one way or another DBXL is going to be able to help you out.  If you want to send me a private message via the forum I would be happy to have a quick phone call to discuss.

    Thanks

    Ted
