    unique filter in repeating table

    Hello, I will appreciate very much any help. I've been doing some search but didn't find any. I thought it would be a simple problem, but maybe I am wrong. I want to show a repeating table that is binded to a some datasource (main), but would show only rows with a unique names (say the first field of the row, i.e. UserName). It's done simple in combobox and listbox (in InfoPath 2007+), there is a built-in option for that. But not for repeating tables. How do I write the right filter for this task? Thanks, Stas

    Hi:

    You'll need to use preceding-sibling. I've attached a sample. Right click the link in the header to save the form locally. Open the saved file in design mode (right click and select design) and preview. There is conditional formatting on the first table, none on the second.

    WOW!!! Thank you very much! I thought the solution would be in filter not in conditional formatting. That's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you a lot for you time, Stas

    Hello, I hope I can still get some help with this topic. I followed your instructions and example file but for some reason I get an error when I try it. The error is that it is a "does not point to a valid path." I've tried everything I could think of to prevent that error. Playing around with it I noticed that the preceding function allows the path, but the preceding-sibling doesn't. Attached a screenshot of my situation. I would appreciate any help you can give me. :-) Thanks, George

    I'd think maybe:

    ../preceding-sibling::my:MaterialItems/my:SystemBoundaries
