InfoPath Dev

I have an InfoPath 2007 addin that works correctly on about 95% of the installations and on the other 5% works about 90% of the time.  On those machines where it fails, there is an 'invisible' instance of InfoPath still listed in the Task Manager processes list after everything has been closed.

If this invisible instance is present before the next launch of InfoPath, the addin appears to load properly, but the menu items never receive the click event.  No errors, no failures, just no response.

I'm looking for direction here.  Does anyone know what I might look for that could be causing InfoPath to not exit when closed?  Could be in my add-in, could be in my form, could be in the installation? Any and all help would be appreciated.

If you have code in your form, maybe your code is holding some resource that is preventing InfoPath from closing. Maybe it's the interaction between your code and InfoPath. Sounds like a tough one to debug, but we have never seen this with InfoPath and we provide a lot of add-ins to people. I'd try attaching a debugger to the InfoPath process and getting a stack trace. Paste that in here as well as any relevant code from your add-in and we'll see if any ideas pop up. Otherwise, I'd say it's a bug in your add-in code. There's a smaller probability it's a bug between your add-in and InfoPath and a very very small probability it's an InfoPath bug.

Thanks for the reply.  There is a fair amount of code between what the form does and the add-in, so it's probably in there somewhere.  I'll see if I can get it to reproduce consistent enough to get a debugger on it.  As I'm checking through my code, are there some common 'gotchas' that I should watch for?
