    Question about Client-Server in InfoPath

    I have an InfoPath form.
    I want that the user of any organizion will be able to open an instance of the form from a web ASP page witch is part of web portal on this organizition and it's located on the organization's server. My form (code in VS .NET-C#) contain a web reference to a web service (whitc located in the organization's server too).

    For while, I gave my form FullTrust security level and create the MSI file for instaltion. I loaded an instance of the form to the web portal (when the user open new instance it's copied the original inatance that I loaded) and finally I installed the form in each user machine in the organization (client side).
    I want to know how to avoid this installtion per machin!!!
    Can I install the form once in the server???
    Is the form must be Client side (site on each machin)???
    Must it be installed in evry machin in order that the user will be able to watch/open instance of the form?
    Can I make my form be server side?
    I must help for this?

    Installing form on the server will have full trust on the server not on the client machines. Form can be any where but it has to be given permissions so that it can be executed in your local machine.
    So for giving permissions you are making the form full trust.

    But one thing if you are using a webservice you need not use webreference, you can directly access webservice through the InfoPath which does not require full trust.

    How can I do it? Do you mean by Data Connection? becuase in my case Data Connection is not good for me (I called to different methods each time in my code - not only for submit!).
    So, from what you saying, Can the users open the form if it only inastalled on the server and not on their machin?? please be more specific.
    I need it soon!

    Re: Question about Client-Server in InfoPath

    You can submit data to webservice via data connections, you can do many things with a data connection. There is submit type of dataconnection also, there is receive type.
    This solution can reside on a sharepoint server/central location, from where all users can access the file. But again if you have webreference/Database reference in your form code then your form should be given full trust irrespective of where it resides.

    One good suggestion for you is buy "Developing Solutions with Microsoft InfoPath " by Patrick Halstead which gives you lot of information about dataconnections and security of your form(Full Trust issue), Because these things so vast to explain in a forum.

    O.K!
    I'm very close to solve this problem. I need from you just littel more information.
    I know for sure that I must to give my form full trust security level. I want to install the form (= create template of it) on my organization server! in that way that the users will open (by button click) an instance of the form from a web portal page of the organization!!
    by this code

    var ranNum= Math.round(Math.random()*25555);
    var Newpath="\\\\OrgServer\\Templates\\"+ ranNum +".xml"
    var template="\\\\OrgServer\\Templates\\MyForm.xsn"

    //Start the application
    var oApp = new ActiveXObject("InfoPath.Application");
    var oXDocumentCollection = oApp.XDocuments;
    var oXDocument=oXDocumentCollection.NewFromSolution(template);

    I only need "Yes" "No" answer! Can I satisfied in install the form only in the organization server (called "OrgServer") or should I install it in each machin in the organization for addition??
    that's all!!!

    thank you for your help

    Re: Question about Client-Server in InfoPath

    Yes! You can be satisfied if you are ready to install a digital certificate on all the client machines.

    Digital certificate is necessary if your form is full trust.
