I was hoping to use InfoPath to create some checklists that my ops centre staff could use. I wanted to use InfoPath as it seems to offer some great features for conditional hiding of sections which are not releveant, and limiting choices to certain values. Also, it looked as thought I would be able to prevent unintended editing of the form template, and similarly makes sure everyone uses the right templaterather than an old one. Since we don't use Sharepoint the completed forms would not be submitted to some special data repository, rather they would just be saved in specific network folder. The trouble is, it looks as though to have forms automatically saved with pre-determined name (e.g. "Checklist-<date>") in a pre-determined location (rather than just 'Form1' in 'My Documents') then the form has to be set up with 'full trust' which itself appears to require either a digitial signature (which is expensive/difficult to get if you don't already have one), or for the form has to be installed on individual's computers, using installable templates which can only be created using Visual Studio (which again is an expensive option). Have I descrided the situation correctly, or is there some work-around I have missed? Should I in fact give up on InfoPath and use some other form software, perhaps even just Word?
