After Save - "The form has been closed"

    Hello all,

I am having a few issues with an info path form in Sharepoint 2007.

I have a administrator approved browser enabled form template. I am using the 'Name linked to edit menu' column to edit the form.

The issue is as follows -

When clicking a custom link ('Add new form' in a content editor web part) the form can be opened and saved/submitted and the redirect back to the library works. Also when clicking on the form name in the 'Name linked to edit menu' column the form can be opened and saved/submitted and the redirect back to the library works.

However - when the user uses the edit menu around the form name and clicks 'Edit In Browser' the form opens, but when the user clicks 'Save' or 'Submit' a screen appears saying 'The form has been closed'. The action (Save/Submit) did not do anything and the redirect does not occur.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Alternatively does anyone know how to hide 'Edit in browser' using javascript? I have some code to hide 'Check Out' etc.. But cant find anything to hide 'Edit in Browser'.

    Thanks in advance.

    Simon

A possible workaround would be to use the 'Name linked to document' option instead, but if I did this I would lose the 'Delete' functionality.

Does anyone know of another way to enable users to delete forms without the 'Name linked to edit menu' column being visible?

I am struggling to find a fix/workaround for this by the end of the day...

Do you need the user to be able to "Edit in browser".  You could change the field which links to the Name field--but you would have to convert your view to a DataView Webpart. Also there is javascript that could be used to limited the items displayed on the list.

Re: After Save - "The form has been closed"

I ended up changing the column to be 'Type (Linked to document)' and had a delete button in the form itself (switching the form status to deleted and hiding that status in the view).

The problem was the library needed to give the user a delete option, but 'Edit in Browser' cannot be removed from the menu using javascript. All other options can be removed, but not that one.
