Changing the template form link in InfoPath

    Hi forum!

I have a question concerning the template form link in InfoPath files. In every file I found a link
    like that:

    href="file:///C:/Template.xsn"

Because of offline users I need to store a template on the local device C:\. After the transfer to
the SharePoint Form libary like to change the link to the template which is used in the library.
Because of the number of files I don't like to do this manually. Is there a way to do it automatically.
E.g. by an workflow or something like that?

    Thanks in advance.

You say you "transfer" the form template, but I'm not sure what this means.

Have you tried InfoPath's File > Publish to publish your form template to SharePoint?

Re: Changing the template form link in InfoPath

In my case transfer means that an offline user sent the form by outlook to an incoming email
adress of a form library. The offline user uses a form template which is stored on C:\ The internal
user uses also the form template on C:\. Therefore I want to change the templatelink in order
to refer the internal user to the form library template on sharepoint. I hope my explanation was
    not to complicated...

I see. So what you are transferring is not the XSN (the form) but the XML (the data that the user filled out in the form itself).

So there are really multiple XSNs. One user could have it in C:\, another could have it in C:\Users\data\ (and so on) and then there's the XSN from the form library itself.

We have a blog entry for a similar scenario; perhaps it'll help? Click here to read it.
