InfoPath 2007 connection to SP list created by excel import

    Hello,

I have a spreadsheet that contains users names, userIDs, users managers, etc.  The list is about 990 rows by 7 columns.  I imported this data into a sharepoint list.  I am now creating a form that reads in this information and display's supervisors name, etc. depending on who is using the form.   I have created several forms that use basically the same functionality and this is the first time I am having an issue.  I am returned nothing and the field is blank.

an example of my query may be:

    Field to fill in: SupervisorName

    Lookup: @SupervisorName[@UltiEmplid = "1001000"]

This is the first time that I am using a custom list where I imported the data, it is also the largest list of data that I have an infopath connection to.  Would either of those items cause the issue?

To test, I created a small list that contained userID and UserName.  Added about 6 rows.  created a new form and created lookup that filled a text box "User Name" where userID = <specific number>.  This worked fine.

Your help and insight are appreciated,

     -B

    Hi B,

Keep in mind that in InfoPath when you query a data source using the InfoPath data connections InfoPath has no way of filtering that data so in this case I believe that all 990 rows and 7 columns worth of data are being returned to the form and then any filtering that you need to do is then being done by InfoPath, which may be the issue.

Is the form locked while this query is occuring?  If the issue is a timeout issue of somekind you should be experiencing a very slow form.  Usually the form will eventually respond, even if it's several minutes later.

We actually have a product that we created for InfoPath called "Web Services Solution Pack (WSSP)"  We created this product in part to deal with this limitation in InfoPath.

    Ted
