The form has Been Closed again- wits end!

Just when I was getting comfortable with Moss/Formsserver and IP 2007 the dreaded "Closed" message is back, have wasted the best part of a day going around this issue...

    Scenario;

    1. Basic (one textbox) admin approved form, full trust signed with a domain issued code cert
    2. Form published as AdminApproved to fileshare, uploaded through central admin and activated on site collection
    3. Target form library has content type enabled and browser enabled
    4. Can create new contenttype form from the menu in the library save/or submit and the form will open correctly in the browser
    5. BUT if open the template from the file share the form will submit correctly but when I try to open from the browser then I get the error message
    6. The form  opens with Infopath
    7. The first time this happens I get a message saying the form cannot be opened because the template is on a different site collection \\server\fileshare\abc.xsn

This has worked before, we need to email (non outlook, non connected) company members with the form templates, hence fulltrust

Anyone got a magic wand out there ?

    Thanks,

    Casey

Heres what fixed it for me;-

Opening the problem forms XML I could see there was a file URL as the forms source.

When I published the form from the Sharepont Server then this URL disapeared and voila!, well to date anyway.

Re: The form has Been Closed again- wits end-and more

Well the 'solution' above was short lived, back to square one.

No problems for most of today emailing the admin approved template off domain, saving, and filling in the form emailing it back and submitting with a custom submit button

Opens first time with the browser some forms second third and fourth, the suddenly "the form has been closed" and I can see the "source template" is the file share

When I look at the sorce url in the address bar for a 'good form' and a 'bad form' the adress is the same  acn any one shed light on what is happening!

    .Please ..

    Thanks,

    Kerry

can you attach a good form, a bad form and your template so that we can look into it and let you know what might be going wrong

Re: The form has Been Closed again- wits end-and more

     Hi,

Replied yesterday but must have been too early in the morning...

To recap we have the remote user that creates the form, and the office user that submits the form

We have isolated the problem, the form that is created from a copy of the template "off domain" by the remote user does not have a source in the xml header.

If the form coming in via email from the remote user matches a template on the office users pc submitting the form, it works, but if not then the error.

By copying the published template to the office users PC opening the template and closing, then all emailed attachments coming from the remote user are OK

Now this is a workaround, is there a better way ?

    Thanks

relinking such documents back to library is a better solution, to relink the documents to the document library

    open the document library

-> settings -> document library settings -> relink documents to this library -> and select the documents to be relinked.

to identifying which forms are good are which are bad, for the good one the template link will be your server specific path and for the bad one they will be pointing to paths like "C:\..."
