Filter and Concat values from a repeating table.

    Hey all,

I'm using the functionality from the article found here: http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2006/04/05/569338.aspx

However, I'd like to take this one step further. I want to make sure that the concatenated list of email addresses does not contain duplicates.

Let me expand further - if duplicate email addresses are listed in the repeating table, then they will appear twice in the concatenated field, therefore causing duplicate emails to be sent. Is there any way a check can be performed so that if the email address already exists in the concatenated field then it does not get added a second time?

     Appreciate your help.

    Thanks.

Why not filter it out in the repeating table first. In other words, don't let them enter duplicates in the first place. Should be able to check when they enter and if it exists already show a warning and/or set the field to blank.

You could also look at qRules which will help you do filtering and other commonly requested commands that require code. Free trial can be downloaded here: http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/qRules.aspx

I'm not sure what type of email server are you using. But at least Exchange is smart enough to not to send emails twice.

I want to allow the users to enter names more than once in the repeating table.

I'm actually not trying to send emails, but instead I want to expose the concatenated field out into a list and I do not want there to be duplicates.
