    Publishing on MOSS 2007

     Hello!

I had published an InfoPath form to a document library on MOSS farm. The form has some code

for saving with a custom name on the doc lib. The clients use the form to fill out some

data then by pressing a button, it is saved to the doc.lib. It has been working ok

for about 2 years. However, one of the users has faced problems after reinstalling Windows.

The form cannot be saved. Here's the error displayed after pressing the button and executing

    the event:

    ///////////////////////////////////////////////////
InfoPath cannot save the form with the following name:

    8.xml
The specified location is not valid, not available, or you do not have the correct

    permissions.

    server administrator

They can save the form from other workstations, but not from their own PCs.

I have uninstalled InfoPath (complete), some deletions from users' profiles, reset IE's

files, but no change. Please help me. (Maybe .NET is acting faulty?)

Hi and welcome to the fourms.

Is this an issue with Internet Explorer not being in the right zone for InfoPath with code behind?  In this case IE should be in the local intranet zone I think.

    Re: Publishing on MOSS 2007

We have experienced a similar problem with people attempting to create a blank form from a forms library.  This template is relatively simple and doesn't have any code or submittals.  InfoPath opens up, and they can enter info, but when they save they get this error:

InfoPath cannot save the form. The specified location is not valid, not available, or you do not have the correct permissions. Check the spelling of the file name and verify that the location is correct, or contact the server administrator.

All users on this particular MOSS 2007 team site have full control and get this error.  Everyone has InfoPath 2007 (12.0.6413.1000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000).

We found that by 'tricking' the Host file, such that it indicates the MOSS 2007 URL and associated IP, that this error goes away.  People can now create new blank forms and save.  Life is good.

That is our solution for now.  But that is not the preferred one.  We think the issue is our network (firewalls and reverse proxy).  Still attempting to figure out another solution to this issue that doesn't involve the Host file.

    Any ideas?

NOTE.  People with 'un-tricked' Host files can edit existing forms and save.  They just can't create new ones.

    Adios,
