InfoPath Dev

I have an Infopath form template posted to a SharePoint form library. When I fill out out a new form the form name is a number. (eg 31, 32, etc).  I would like to have the name show as the employee name and the date. I found a similar post on the forum that says for me to do the following

"When you are creating the data connection to submit the form to the sharepoint library,  On the third dialog of the wizard when you specify the url for the SharePoint Library, there is a second text box called Filename, you can put an xpath expression in here that uses some of the fields in the form to create an unique name. "

I understand how to do this however my Submit button connects to the DBXL web service in order to post data to my SQL tables. Is there a way for me to add an additional data connection to my Submit button?   

you can have  more than once submit connections on your form, and instead of using a submit button use a normal button and using rules submit the form to both the connections

Okay, so I created a new button and in the rules I added two actions, one that submits the form data to the SP form library and one that submits the data to the Qdabra web service to post to my SQL tables. When I tested filling out the form from the SP form library and submitted the form, it gave me two documents in my form library.  I assumed this was because I had a SharePoint mapping set up in my Qdabra admin tool for that form.  So I removed that mapping and tried it again.  This time I got only one record showing in the SP form library and my data posted.  However, if I go back in the form via my SP library and make any changes and submit, it creates a new record in my SQL server tables instead of just overwriting the record that is already there.  How do I fix this? 

Hi Stacie,

DBXL needs to own the xml file. You can't have a submit to Sharepoint + a submit to DBXL. You'll need to submit to DBXL and let DBXL handle the Sharepoint mapping.

Based on your question on the Qdabra forum a few days ago we're investigating how to create this custom form name, but we don't have an answer quite ready yet.

Thanks Ernesto.  It seems to work great.  I did want to let you know that there were a couple omissions/errors in the instructions; nothing major though.

1.  In Step 4 the user needs to change the hyperlink in the xml document to their Qdabra web server name; this was not written in the instructions
2. In Step 5 the command listed uses the document name "TitleDbxlLinkColumnExample.xml"  however the name of the xml file you provide is named "TitleDbxlLinkColumn.xml"
