Low Perfomance opening Forms in closed network

     Hi,

I have some simple signed forms which I can open on my developent environment rather fast, but If I install dem on our reference system, which has a close dnetwork with no access to Internet the forms are opened very slow. Sometimes it takes more than one minute since the form is opened.

there is no difference between a simple for with no external data connection and a version with data connections.

    I use Infopath 2007.

Has someone an idea how this could be solved? Our target system will be also a closed environment.

    Hi,

Is this a SharePoint server where they are opening slowly?

It really sounds like a server environment issue rather than an issue with InfoPath - espeically since you said that you tried this with a simple form and no data connections (so you removed the data connections as an issue).

How did you publish your template?

    Ted

    Hi Ted,

there is no SharePoint Server involved. I create msi-setups for the forms, which are installed on the clients. The forms then will be opened from Outlook. They are all signed because of managed c#-code within.

Is there probably a better way to publish them to Outlook without SharePoint server?

I found some pointers at http://81.169.133.58/toto/www.torsten-flegel.de/wordpress/?p=355 (in German). But disabling the verification of certs using Reg-Key [HKEY_USERS\<userid>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WinTrust\Trust Providers\Software Publishing] “State”=dword:00023e00 has not solved the problem.

     I found a solution:

Add an entry to etc/hosts file: 127.0.0.1 crl.microsoft.com

Or add such a DNS entry to your DNS. The lookup will redirect to lokalhost and will fail, but the form is opened although. It will be opened faster because of no connection timeouts.
