Repeating fields don't update in older forms

    Hello

I am currently working with a sharepoint/infopath database. The problem is the database alreadys has forms published to it but when a change is made to a repeating section that is already in the form. (We are using a repeating section and default values to create a table with checkbox options)

For example one of the tables on the form my be changed from

    Table 1                                                              to                                Table 2

    red                                                                                                       RED

    yellow                                                                                                  YELLOW

    gree (spelled wrong purposely)                                                               GREEN

On all the older form table 1 will still show where as if a new form is created it will show the changes. We are trying to figure out how to get the older forms to take the changes that are being made to the repeating table.

If I need to clearify more I can.

    Thanks in advance

do you mean you changed the default value or you just changed some loose text, if you change some loose text or field name then that should appear in the previous forms also. try relinking the forms to the template, to relink.

go to your document library -> settings -> document library settings -> relink documents to this library,

    Thanks for the help

i tried to relink an older form in the form library, and the changes that appear on the new form did not take.

so to answer your other question here is what we are doing. on our form we have multiple check box list that allows the user to pick multiple items that affect a certain category, and  we have created these check box list through a repeating table so the repeating table is set up to have a check box and a text field. then we go into the default values options under the Tool menu and create all the values of the check boxes by just right clicking on the set (check box/text field) and adding another below or above it. Then for the text fields we change the default value to the text we want. after this is done when form is in the view mode it shows a list of check boxes and their values.

the problem comes in when we need to change these values. the changes show up in the check box list on the new form but on the older ones it will still show what was orignally there when that form was published (so when we open up an older form in sharepoint). the changes could be minor such as a mispelled text being corrected or a complete text change.

hopefully this is much better discription of the problem we are having

these changes wont reflect. what i got from your writing is that, you update the default value of text box and try to make it reflect on previous forms.

Instead of using textboxes why dont you just use loose text, just type next to the checkbox, instead of havign a textbox associated with it

I have an InfoPath form that has been working fine.   I then relinked all forms, or thought I did.  The new forms created work fine.  Most of the ones at the beginning are relinked and working fine.  There are about 200 forms in the middle that won't relink and you can't update them.  If I try to update the properties, it has an invalid link.  If I edit the form and submit it back with the changes, I get the following error message box, but only if I actualy make a change on the form and try to save it.
