Combining multiple repeating groups/fields to populate a combobox

In InfoPath 2007, you can populate a combobox by values from a set defined by an XPath expression on the main data source. However, these expressions seem to be limited to those that refer to a single repeating group of field.

I wonder if there is a way to manually edit these XPath expressions or otherwise make it possible to populate a combobox with data from multiple places in the data source.

Also, does version 2010 provide this capability?

You would be able to do it with code behind.

    Thank you for your response.

I was hoping I could avoid coding altogether. My needs are relatively simple. In this particular case, it would be sufficient to supply a custom XPath expression. Another way to do this would be to allow multiple selection in the InfoPath dialog box where you select the XPath node. I don't know if that is possible in version 2010.
