Republishing Infopath Form 03 (currently in use) in Sharepoint

    hi,

i've just republished a form in infopath 03 in Sharepoint. but when i open an previously submitted(completed) form in the same library, it appears to have incorrect data submitted. how can i ensure that hte content of the previously submitted forms stays the same? thanks. lenka

If you are submitting a form and on submit the fields have the correct value, but when open inccorect values are present.

    1) Check the rule on the submit button, make sure the connection is correct.

    2) Under "Tools" -- > "Data Connections" the connection -- > modify --> "Allow Overwrite if file exist"

    3) The field could be map to an incorrect content type field.

Before you submit . save to your local device , open with notepad and take a look at the node/'s. Also do the same when you submit when open again save to your desktop and open with notepad and see which nodes are inccorect.

hi, i dont know if that is the right solution. i want a user to only submit one item (form ) per month, but to be able to go back to the same item to amend the content. is that possible , with using the SUBMIT button??

The answer is Yes. When the user submits the first time I assume the data is been save to the list?  Example. gets save as "Test1" . Next time you open the same form it should have the values from previous + the text that is going to get appended to the field. Once it gets submitted again you would need to override Test1 with Test1.

    Does that make sence?

The problem is that you are using now(). So everytime you resubmit a new one gets created. Since now() will always be different.   You want to use something unique for that specific form a field on the form. If you send me the form I could guide you.

i see....but what value do i type in..? we have a number of lawyers filling out forms - one per month (with their performance submissions). and the form doesnt capture a unique info each month.* ...do you know if i can use the Created By from Sharepoint ? or is there a way to capture lawyers name (from our internal phonebook in the form automatically?? then i can have one entry per lawyer / per month....thanks

(*without them having to fill in yet another field in the form with their name ....)

On the form does the lawyers name display? How about the month?   If it does than you could use that as the name when you save.

You could add another field and associated with the lawyers name. Do the lawyers name reside on a Sharepoint list, or AD?
