Exporting Attachments to a file folder

I created a form with InfoPath 2003 that has a number of attachment options. Does anybody know how to export the attachments to a file folder?

    Hi,

You can verify below link to submit attachments to SharePoint folder.

    Hello Lawson,

... and welcome to our forum.

If you want to prgrammatically export the attachments to a file folder you have to decode every single attachment and write it to the specific folder. The attachments are embedded in an infopath form and they are "base64"-coded. So you have to decode them before you can save them in a folder. For further information I would recommend the following article from the Microsoft knowlegde base.

Please ask if you have more questions regarding this issue.

    Regards,

    Karsten

Re: Exporting Attachments to a file folder

    Hello Karsten,

Thank you for your post. This is exactly what I'm trying to do. However, I work in a fairly controlled environment, and I do not have access to Visual Studio. Can I implement this solution without using visual studio?

Also, do you know how to programmatically export data to an excel worksheet in a comma delimited format?

    Thank you for your help,

    -Lawson

    Hi Lawson,

unfortunately I have not tried to extract attachments without using Visual Studio. But I have found the following article which maybe helpful in your case:

Referring to your second question. You can export data from the current view of an opened form by using the Export to Excel Wizard. The Export to Excel Wizard also allows you to export data from several forms at once

Open the form you want to export to Office Excel 2003.
On the File menu, point to Export To, and then click Microsoft Office Excel.
Follow the steps in the Export to Excel Wizard.
To export data from additional views of the same form, repeat the previous steps for each view.

    Regards,

    Karsten
