    Auto Populate Dropdown List Boxes

Very new to info path, and any type of xml.  Experience with VB / VBA.  Trying to populate the contents of a dropdown list box based on selection from another dropdown list box.  For example, if in box 1 the user selects option 1, then only options B, D, E, and F appear in Box 2.  To make it more complicated, Actually have a 3rd and potentially a 4th box whose contents will depend on the previous selections.  Can anyone help?

    Hi:

The term to search on is Cascading Drop Down (so you know what to tell Google).

Here is a great tutorial by Greg Collins on this. Try walking through the tutorial before applying it to your own form, just so you can make sure you understand the concepts. Good luck, and post back if you get stuck!

    Thanks,

The tutorial was very helpful.  I have already went through it, and it would be very easy to modify this example to meet my needs.  In fact, although these lists will be extensive in my case, the data does not exist in a database.  I will either need to enter it into an xml document similar to the one in the example, or create an access database to enter / pull it from.  Thanks again...

Re: Auto Populate Dropdown List Boxes

    Another question,

I have implemented the solution that you proposed, and it is working very well.  The only problem is, my last drop down is a rather lengthy description of the part.  I am trying to emulate a spreadsheet that is currently used by a lot of people, so I can only make the dropdown box so long.  Is there a way to wrap the text in a drop down after the selection is made?  I see the wrap text function for text boxes, etc. but of course what I need to do wouldn't be that simple.
