Attachments in read-only form + number format

    Hi all!

I have two questions this time:

    1. We have an attachment control on our IP03 form. Using a read-only view in IP03 this will allow the users to open, save as and copy the attachment. But in IP07 the only options are cut/copy/paste and all of them are disabled. Any idea about that?

    2. we have a calculated currency field. So there is a value, then there is a currency conversion rate and then there is the value in EUR. Thus, the value can be something like: 113462,98425. On the form I defined the field as number with 2 fixed decimal places. IP grabs the locale of the user and displays this correctly. Also in our SharePoint list, where the value is stored displays it in the format which is set on the server. Now we want to use this value in a HTML mail... but grabbing the field we get of course only the number w/o formatting, this is only done during display. Any idea how I could get the formatted number?

    Thnx, rgds

     Hi!

Thnx for the hint, but using two sections with the same control does not help. The users must not be able to remove the attachment, but they must be able to open it. This is working perfectly in InfoPath03 but not any more in InfoPath07 it seems.

     Hi all!

At least I found a solution for my request #2. I've created an additional textfield and it's value is: format-number(SCI_TotalSCIPrice; "#,##0.00") . This creates the whished format and stores it as text, so we can use it afterwards in our emails.

Any idea on request #1 concerning the attachments in IP07???

drop a section and place your file control in it go to properties of the attachment control unchecked the checkbox (Allow the user to browse, delete and replace files.

Please see above - while in read-only mode, the users must not be able to delete or replace the attachment, but they must be able to open it. This is working perfectly in InfoPath03 but not any more in InfoPath07 it seems.

Re: Attachments in read-only form + number format

Dear all - sorry for the confusion. I found the root-cause to my problem. The form was created with IP07 and saved as IP03. While creating the form, the mentioned view was created as read-only. Now, as this option is not available in IP03 at all I didn't see it there at all. I now opened the form in IP07, removed the 'read-only' checkbox on the menioned view and now the attchments are working as expected.

    Thnx

    Michael
