    InfoPath form and SharePoint portal

I have an organization portal that based on SharePoint portal server.
I built an InfoPath form. I want that the user that have access to this portal will have the option to open an instance of the form and to fill it and save. (The form is based on .NET project - C#).
My form's code contain a Web Reference(to webService).

My question is: What should I do with my form in order that the user will be able to open it from the portal.
How to put the form's Template (.xsn) in the portal?
Should I publish it or should I create MSI file and install it, if the answer is MSI file, Where should I install the form? I tried to Install it on the net but I get an error that it's not local URL (I have access to the server from my local machin)!!!

Re: InfoPath form and SharePoint portal

hi liorlankri, I am in a similar situation. I would like to know how to deploy an InfoPath form to other users in my company. I tried publishing the form, and when I click on Fill out a Form link, it tries to download a template.xsn but my InfoPath client is unable to open it and gives out the following error
    ----
    Form template:http://<company_intranet>/HR/Forms/template.xsn
The form template is trying to access files and settings on your computer. InfoPath cannot grant access to these files and settings because the form template is not fully trusted.

    ----
Are you having a similar error? I am also considering the option of creating and distributing an MSI for my form. You can configure the form to be installed on C:\ or any other path, provided that path is available to a user who needs to install it in their system.

Please let me know if this helps, and if you figured out a good deployment strategy. Thanks!

Hi Aswin, your error message says that your form requires full trust and you did not give full trust to your form. To avoid this you need give full trust to your form and sign the form with a digital signature.
