    Infopath Form opening in IPFS

I have setup the Infopath form using DBXL DAT Tool. It works fine when used from within the DAT tool. I deployed the form to Sharepoint using the Sharepoint tab in DAT Tool. Also, modified the Sharepoint library settings to open the form in browser. Still, the form opens using Infopath client.

Can anyone please help me to resolve this?

Also, should the Infopath form be deployed on the same site on which dbxl is installed. We have multiple sharepoint sites on the same machine.

    Hi Reena,

From the screenshot you attached, I assume you are unable to save the Sharepoint mapping DAT. Is this correct? Can you attach a screenshot of the Sharepoint tab in DAT before you click save, so we can look at the settings there?

The error you attached also suggests that the form is mobile enabled. Is this correct?

    Hi Ernesto:

It does save the Sharepoint mapping in DAT. Attached is the screenshot for reference.

I have not done any special change to make the form mobile enabled. I don't know how it took that setting.

Can you go to Tools > Form Options, uncheck the mobile setting, save the form, re attach the form template in the General tab, then try to save again? If the mobile setting is not necessary, let's rule that out first.

    Thanks.

    Hi Ernesto:

This resolved the error and also the form opens in browser now. That's great and very helpful. Thanks for that.

I am using DBXL to save the form to SQL Server. The form works from DBXL DAT Tool setup. The same form which is now published in Sharepoint Form Library opens in browser properly but does not submit. It gives IPFS error which I am attaching. Can you guide how to troubleshoot and resolve that so that the form submits to the DBXL Documentservice.

Are there any tools that can help with testing and debugging forms once deployed on Sharepoint?

    Hi Reena,

Unfortunately, IPFS often gives these uninformative errors. My first suggestion is to check the Event Viewer for Qdabra or SharePoint entries that might provide further clues.

I also suggest turning off (temporarily) the browser-enabled property in the Form library. This will force the form to open in the client (InfoPath). When you open the form from the SharePoint form library and submit it, you might get a more informative error.

Let us know if the above yield any addition information. Thanks.

    Hi,

I looked at the Qdabra Event Viewer but does not show anything. Do you know where is the Sharepoint Event Viewer or log?

    Hi Reena,

Here's a page that explains Sharepoint troubleshooting:

    http://community.bamboosolutions.com/blogs/bambooteamblog/archive/2008/09/29/how-do-i-troubleshoot-sharepoint-so-many-logs.aspx

Have you had a chance yet to try my second recommendation?

I also suggest turning off (temporarily) the browser-enabled property in the Form library. This will force the form to open in the client (InfoPath). When you open the form from the SharePoint form library and submit it, you might get a more informative error.
