Repeating table and tab indexing issue

    Hi Everyone,

I have an issue with a repeating table and tab indexing.  I've searched high and low on both the infopath dev site as well as the rest of the internet.  The following two sites didn't give me much hope:

    http://officepoint.blogspot.com/2008/07/infopath-tabbing-tab-index-bug.html
    http://officepoint.blogspot.com/2008/06/change-default-tab-order-for-controls.html

However, I feel like there must be a solution to this issue.  Here is the issue...

I have a repeating section with a number of text boxes and drop-down menus with conditional formatting built in.  For each item in the repeating section I have all the tab indexes set to 0 with the hope of the tab indexing simply moving from left to right.  When I select an item from one of the drop-down menus and hit enter, the next time i hit tab the cursor moves back to the left-most field of the section.

My assumption is that after you hit "Enter" when selecting an item from a drop-down menu the next field the tab key should bring you to would be the next field to the right.  This doesn't seem to be the case.

Does anyone know of a solution?

    Thanks!

Sorry, but I'm still somewhat new at this.  How do I attach the form template?

I'm using InfoPath 2003 right now.

    Thanks!

    hi Antony,

yours seems to be a unique problem, the problem is you have conditional formatting on your two text boxes Quantity and Dollar Amount. the problem occurs only when you select a value that is bound to hide Quantity/dollar amount. The usual flow would have been Assest type -> Action -> quantity/dollar amount, but once you leave the action field(sometimes quantity/dollar amount gets hidden because of value you selected in Actions) the control should be passed to quantity/dollar amount, and since it gets hidden all of a sudden, the control is passed to the first control in the row.

A way around this, would be to put your ticket/CUSIP control after the drop downs and quantity and dollar amount fields after that.

I appreciate the response, but this solution does not seem to work.  I moved the ticker/CUSIP controls to the left of Quantity and Dollar Amount but I am still getting the "back to the beginning after tabbing" problem.

The form works ok when you select "Equity" from the Asset Type, but when you select Mutual Fund and then either 'Buying $' or 'Selling Shares' it reverts back to the beginning after hitting 'Tab.'

If anyone could help I would greatly aprpeciate it.

    Thanks,
    Anthony
