Based on the value in the drop-down a hidden field becomes visible. I have a rule in conditional formatting that displays the hidden field when the drop down contains the text string "Other". However this only works if you choose Other as the first record in the repeating table. If you choose one of the other text values in the drop down first and then add a new row and select Other in the second drop down the hidden field wont display. I would like to know if its possible to reference a hidden field in code and make it visible? 11-11-2009 10:22 PM In reply to Qazi Anis Joined on 03-13-2009 Chicago Posts 1,025 Re: make field visible depending on value in drop-down list in repeating table Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Hi Qazi, I think I may have jumped the gun, while it works fine on preview, once I published the form to Form Services on SharePoint, the form cannot be submitted. I get an error telling me there is required fields that need to be filled in. Which is odd because I have no required fields in the form yet. Any ideas would be welcome. 11-12-2009 05:25 AM In reply to Qazi Anis Joined on 03-13-2009 Chicago Posts 1,025 Re: make field visible depending on value in drop-down list in repeating table Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Hi Qazi,Thanks again it was the formid field. What I don't understand is the form was submitting fine before I added the eval function to the repeatingHelper field which has nothing to do with the formid field. Anyway thanks for all your help. hi,
create a new text field and in its default value use fuction
eval(eval(repeatinggroup,'Concat(my:fieldname,";")'),"..")
based on the value of this new text field(if it contains "others") hide/unhide your field
Hi Qazi,
I will try this and report back. Thanks for the quick reply.
Execellent job, worked like a charm.
Thank you :)
