Searching SharePoint form library using InfoPath form

    Afternoon guys,

Over the past few months I have gradually began to work on a Help Desk logging tool for me team. I have now got it completed but one issue I can't get my head round is searching previous forms. I want to have everything integrated within my InfoPath form so the user doesn't have to view SharePoint.

I would like us to search any previous jobs that have been logged to the Form Library. I understand you can search within SharePoint even though the search results can be quite hard to read.

Is there any way of searching SharePoint Lists/Wiki's or Form Library using InfoPath?

There is no search feature in InfoPath, and search results in SP are not hard to read.  What got you afraid of SharePoint search?  It is a very robust search engine that can do tons of things if you configure it properly.  Think about it - the SharePoint team puts tons of time and money into the SP search engine while InfoPath has none.  You would be talking about creating your own search engine to rival that of SharePoint.  I don't think it's a great idea.

What is keeping you from wanting to use the powerful search tool that SharePoint provides when you're searching SharePoint content?
