Reply Contact Joe, it's highly advisable not to mix and match Office versions. If you plan to use InfoPath 2010, then you should upgrade your whole Office suite to 2010 or use a different machine just for InfoPath 2010. I haven't experienced what you're describing, but I can assure you that there other nasty issues that will also arise due to mixing versions. Yes, there is a new section called URL that contains SharePointListURL, SharePointServerRootURL, SharePointSiteCollectionURL, and SharePointSiteURL. I haven't noticed any others, but I also haven't done a one-for-one comparison. Ask here. Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Hi Clayton, I have a drop down list box which contains e-mail addresses, taken from a list in Sharepoint. The user opens the form, fills out a few boxes and chooses their managers e-mail address - simple. Form submits ok, but when the manager goes into the form to approve it, the e-mail address field is blank! Thus, if the form is submitted, opened for approval/rejection then saved, the e-mail address data is blank on the form and then is removed in the list in Sharepoint. Is there a method of getting the form to retain the data held in this field? The others fields are all ok, such as requester name, department... (as this other data is taken directly from Active Directory), so any data in these fields are still there when the form is opened. The list however is not! :( Also, on the form we have the manager name (taken from Active Directory) but we have struggled to get the managers e-mail address (As this is not available in Active Directory - just the managers name). Obviously, the manager does have an e-mail address, but this is available only on their AD profile. Is there a good method of creating another box on the form (lets say a text box below the managers name) which then takes the manager name as it is shown (i.e. James BRANCH) and then adds '@mycompany.com' onto the end of it, thus creating an e-mail address?? We'd then use this e-mail address box rather than the drop down list as mentioned above as the initial address for our workflow. It would be better too, as the user doesn't have to pick from a list! We've tried a few methods, none of which seem to work! Your help would be very much appreciated! Reply Contact Hi jaybranch! You can use the concat() function -- like concat(@managerName, "@mycompany.com") as the default value for your extra field. It is also possible to do some extra conversions to the name, such as converting it to lowercase, replacing characters, etc., as you probably know. Hope this helps! 03-23-2011 09:20 AM In reply to qwerty Joined on 02-02-2011 Posts 60 Re: InfoPath 2010 questions? Ask here. Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Hi Clayton. Ask here. Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Two off the top of my head are: Change REST URL: This allows you to dynamically change the parameters of your REST data connection based on actions within the form. This is a great feature that lets you have dynamic data connections as long as you're using REST Send data to Web Part: We can now do input and output parameters when promoting fields, so this action lets us send data to other web parts on the page that are connected to our InfoPath Form Web Part. This is very powerful, but is only useful with browser forms There are some additional XPath functions we can use that are specific to location that allow you to detect where the form was opened...the list, web, site collection, or web app. Clayton Cobb || SharePoint MVP || Clayton's SharePoint MadnessPlanet Technologies || Federal Partner of the Year (2005-2010) || SLG Partner of the Year (2010) 03-23-2011 09:32 AM In reply to qwerty Joined on 02-02-2011 Posts 60 Re: InfoPath 2010 questions?
