    InfoPath Repeater in a generic web service

     I have a web service that has a very generic definition, it takes a bunch of parameters but they are all in a single array of name value pairs.  To give you an idea of what I mean, here is the equivilient code in c#:

    namevalarray[0].Name = "workitem_comment";

    namevalarray[0].Value = "Comment";

    namevalarray[1].Name = "workitem_title";

    namevalarray[1].Value =  "Title";

    namevalarray[2].Name = "category_value";

    namevalarray[2].Value = "Service Request\\Access Request";
    namevalarray[3].Name = "category_lookup_id";

    namevalarray[3].Value = 1;

     In InfoPath if i try to build a form for this the designer is forcing me to use a repeater, but then i can't hardcode the name in the name value pair.  If i create individual form elements then i can't submit a value for all of the name value pairs i need.  There must be a simple solution for this, any ideas?

     It sounds like you should be able to use Tools->Default Values to hardcode the Name values.  Am I mistaken?

     The problem is every parameter of the web service is sent as a name value pair.  Because of this I need to send all of these elements in an array which InfoPath thinks should be represented as a repeater control.  I want to be able to set individual form elements to map to a different index of the name/value pair array. I took a look at tools->default values but i don't see any mapping options that will allow me to accomplish that.

    I understand better now.

    What you can do is represent each of your various fields in its own repeating section, and then filter each repeating section to only display the relevant row (Control Properties->Display->Conditional Formatting), by hiding rows on the condition name != 'Relevant value'
