Problem validation of user input with SharePoint list as secondary data source

    Hi,

I'm trying to validate user input in text box with SharePoint list data, but it doesn't work, probably because I'm missing something. I tried it in two ways. First, I put a condifiton in Data Validation of the text box as "FormField1 is equal to SharePointListField1" and typed some text in Screen Tip. But it didn't catch it when I previewed in InfoPath. I also tried to use a rule instead of built-in validation. I set a condition for the rule as "FormField1 is equal to SharePointListField1", and as an Action I put 'Set a field's value' with a Field name as FormField1 and left the Value empty. This should clear the text box whenever user enters text in FormField1, which is the same in SharePoint list column.

I actually tried to implemented what I found in this forum. The explanations were clear, but somehow it does not work for me. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks,

Ok guys, I found the problem. Secondary data connection to SharePoint list had "Include data for the active form only" checked. I unchecked it and now it works fine with both Data Validation and the Rule ways of validating text box user inputs. Thanks!
