    InfoPath Submitting Forms and Responses

    It appears that if you select the option to create a Submitting form in InfoPath, you don't as far as I can see have the ability to display the response on the form? All that the user see is the message box saying the "Form Submitted Successfully". What if the web service returns a code or message the user needs to see after the submit? Anybody have any thoughts on this? Thanks.

    You will need to use code to submit if you want to be able to handle the response.

    Hi, do you have any examples of this? How can I create an element in my data source to store the response I want to display on the form?

    If you are submitting your main DOM... you would just call

    XDocument.Submit() from code.

    If you want to know what the result was you can do the following:

    try
    {
    var sResult = XDocument.Submit();
    if(<whatver_you_are_checking_for> == sResult)
    {
    <do_whatever_you_need_to_here>
    }
    }
    catch(ex)
    {
    <something_went_wrong>
    <look_at_ex.message_to_know_what_to_do>
    }
