InfoPath does not see my Oracle components

I am connecting to an Oracle database via the connection wizard in InfoPath.  Here is the error message "Oracle client and networking components were not found.  These components are supplied by Oracle Corporation and are part of the Oracle Version 7.3.3 or later client software installation.  Provide is unable to function until these components are installed."

I have installed the Oracle components on my local machine where I am running InfoPath and creating forms.  How do I get InfoPath to recognize they are installed?

Hmm. Can you connect to the Oracle components using Excel 2007? Maybe you need to define an ODBC connection string or something.

I'm using the Microsoft Data Access - OLE DB Provider for Oracle inside InfoPath.  When I try to connect from Excel I get the same error - not finding Oracle components.  I haven't created a straight out ODBC connection in a long time - remind me how please???

I tried to create an ODBC connection via the InfoPath Data Connections but got the same Oracle error message.  I have successfully created an ODBC connection outside of InfoPath and am able to connect to Oracle via command prompt.  What's the deal with InfoPath?? Any improvement in 2010>
