Some of these fields are rich text boxes that are set as cannot be blank by using the expression "field name" is equal to not(.//node()). What I am trying to do is have a button in the form that clears the contents of the fields. So far I have managed to assign a rule to set the field to blank, however where I am struggling is that the form can then be submitted with the blank field because it seems that the data validation is not reset. Can anyone help me please? Thanks 10-14-2009 04:57 AM In reply to ErnestoM Joined on 08-27-2007 Posts 3,320 Re: Reseting data validation on rich text boxes Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Instead of data validation, try conditional formatting. You can make the submit button inactive until the field is filled out. Then you can make the submit button inactive when the user clicks the button to set the field to blank.
