    Approval Status

    Hi

I have just started working with InfoPath and as an initial project I have designed a Leave Form with some basic workflow for approval. The form has been published to a SharePoint library and I have created 2 custom buttons, a 'Submit' button and a 'Reject' button. I have created workflow using SharePoint Designer which alerts a user when a form has been submitted and is pending approval. I have a custom field named 'Leave Request Status' which is hidden on the form and the default value is 'Pending'.

All controls are workfing correctly except I have an issue with the 'Reject' button and the 'Leave Request Status' field on the form. I have tried to update the 'Leave Request Status' field using rules and the 'Reject' button however the value in the list remains 'Pending'.

I have tried to create a new data connection however this breaks the 'Submit' button. Any ideas as how I can reflect status in the document library?

    Thanks
    Tony

when publishing the form, promote the field that is going to contain the status, this will list up automatically in the document library

Thanks very much for getting back to me.

I have promoted the field to the SharePoint list except it does not update.

When a user creates a Leave Request, the 'Leave Request Status' field by default is 'Pending' which is correct however when a manager clicks the 'Reject' button and the form is closed except the rule which status set field value 'Leave Request Status' to rejected is not reflected in the document library.

Do I need to write a formula for this?

I simply typed in the word 'Rejected'

    Thanks again

I  think I may have found the problem

It seems as though the form is not being resumitted back to the library

Is it possible to have to submit options on a single form. When I change the options on the reject button, the submit options on the submit button also change.

How do I go about creating a simple form with reject and submit options?

The form is sent to two managers who approve the form independently and after the last manager approves the form, the status should change to approved.

If either of the managers reject the form the status should change to rejected.

Sounds so easy, I would really appreciate it if someone would please assist me.

    Thanks again

well you create two fields, statusbymanager1, statusbymanager2. and when both status are approved set the main status to approved, if either of them is rejected set the status to rejected.
