I'm not seeing anything online for reporting off the XML. Are you using SharePoint? If you promote fields from your form, you could report off the SharePoint Form Library the XML is submitted to. Here's an article on that....

Hi, Promoting fields to forms is only useful if your infopath form has a flat structure. But, our infopath form has a hierarchical structure. And we have also groups of information, like a list of Date/User/Action. These fields are promoted as comma separated field, which are not useful for reporting. Dieter
