Unable to use C# for event handler

Is InfoPath supposed to default to js code for event handling?

When I try to change programming option to C#, I get error when going into loading event:

"InfoPath cannot add the event handler.  To work with Visual Basic or C# code, Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications (VSTA) is required.  The Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and Microsoft Core XML Services 6.0 must be installed prior to installing VSTA.  To instal VSTA, open Add or Remove Programs, locate your 2007 Microsoft Office system installation, and then click Change."

I have VSTA installed, not sure what is going on.

jason does it happen to every form or just some particular form, if it happens to all the forms i suggest you reinstall VSTA. we can use any of the languages provided to use for event handling. but you cannot use more than one language at a time in infopath.

I have other forms that are using jscript.  So I have to either use C# or jscript on every form that I create in sharepoint?

    This seems weird.

What version of InfoPath do you have installed? Generally, as I recall, IP 2007 will default to VB and you have to set it to C#. What happens if you try to open VSTA, instead of adding an event from IP? -- Oh, and I once had to repair my Office Installation because IP wouldn't add event handlers. I didn't get an error tho, just no event handler.
