InfoPath Dev

 Hello,

Since obviously  the data connection is different for DEV and PRD environment. In that case, do we need to keep 2 infopath forms for modification? One is to submit to DEV and one is to submit to PRD? Or is there a way to configure both connections using 1 form?

it is possible to use the same connection to submit to two different places using code

and it is also possible to have two submit data conections and decide which one to submit .

so no need to have two different templates.

create a button on your form and use rules on that button to submit to the dataconnection you want.

 So in this case, each data connection that I want will need to have 2 connections, one for DEV and one for PRD. For example, retrieve a list from Sharepoint will have one connection to DEV sharepoint and one connection to PRD.

that one was for submit connection only, Tell me how many data connections do you have, and how much time does it take to change data connections.

are you using code behind.

unused data connections can give you lot of trouble. so avoid unused data retrieving data connections.

I would suggest, you use only one template, and before publising change the data connections.

In infopath 2007, you can use "UDCX" data connection but i don't think this work in InfoPath 2003.

I agree with Anis, i have already got issue with unused data connection...

You must have to change the manifest.xsf when you deploy to PROD from DEV...

 This might work but if there are a lot of data connections, it will take a lot of time to change everytime when we want to deploy to production

it is always going to be easy to change the data connections, than to keep two different templates and keep both in sync. i would recommend changing dataconnections rather than having different data connections. believe me it is very tough to keep two templates in sync
