    DropDownList calling another DropDownList

I have a situation set up where my DDL2 is in the query fields section of the form and my Data is in the Data fields Section of the form. When I select an item from the DDL2, the Data Section gets populated (perfect). The problem is that I actually now need another DDL1 to populate, which in turn populates my original DDL2 and the Data Section is populated.

When I attempt to put the control within the Data Fields Section I get an error, red exclamation point (Control cannot store data correctly). When I attempt to put it outside of it (although I'm not sure of the proper way to do this) I get an error, with the red exclamation point (Control cannot store data correctly).

To what field is DDL1 bound?

It actually will be bound to a secondary data source (a different web service). Not sure, if I actually need to make this one my Main Data Source, or not, since it is the first one being called. It will consist of a PositionID and PositionText. But, I run into problems trying to select the PositionID when I use the secondary data source. In the Main Data Source it will allow me to select the ID and the Value, in the secondary data source, I can only select the value and an error pops up when I attempt to select the ID, telling me that "You selected the field where the control saves data. Instead, select the field where the control looks up data."

Basically it should look like this select DDL1 -> populate DDL2 -> select DDL2 -> populate Main Form.

I'll disable DDL2 if nothing is selected in DDL1.

The DDL2 is currently set up as my query field for the main form (data fields).

    Hope I didn't confuse you.

I guess another part of this question would be that once I've selected a positionID, how can I programmatically call the WebService to populate DDL2, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
    Thanks
