InfoPath Dev

 Hi all,

I searched all over the place for the answer to this question and have found variations on what I need but I'm new to infopath, C# and SharePoint and have not found what i am looking for. I need to populate the drop-down with a full list from sharepoint in a browser enabled form.  I tried adding a data connection in infopath but due to the size of the list the form was unresponsive and frankly unuseable and I would'nt consider it as a solution. I seen various suggestions using filters but cannot use them as this is browser enabled. So as I come from a Software Development background I'm looking for a full coding solution in c#. I've wasted enough time with stupid rules, filters and such and I want to use a code only solution. Any help would be appreciated.

You can use filters on the server side through SharePoint views in order to limit the amount of data that gets downloaded to the form.  This can be done with XML data connections:

Soon, Qdabra may give us the ability to dynamically filter this data connection using values in the form, which will be uber.

Thanks for the repy warrtalon but I am not using filters as I need the full list returned not a filtered view of the list.

Code isn't going to keep it from taking a LONG time to retrieve such a large set of data, but the Qdabra devs may have something to help alleviate it.

 well reading large data sets from a db into a browser isent normally an issue, as I've developed plenty of Java web apps in the past that have read from large databases without much performance issues, I may try and bypass infopath altogether in this case. Thanks for the suggestions.
