    "My" mental block

I seem to have a mental block.

Others seems to use "my" namespace & "myFields". But I do all my stuff through "//s0:..." & "//dfs:...". The only point I can see for "my" is if a "Add..." variables (fields or groups) to the "myFields" level in IP, and I can't see why I would want to do this. Is it because I'm using datasets & web services that I don't --- but I don't think so?

You are fine. Don't worry about the "my" namespace. It is used for forms created from the ground up in InfoPath.
