Submitting forms to parent SharePoint site

     Hi,

I was wondering what a good way would be, besides using third party software, to enable some sort of "security" in a forms library, so that depending on the user, they would either only be able to edit/open the forms they filled themselves, or just wouldn't be able to open anything at all.  I read that one way to do this is by having forms submit to a parent site that only specific users (admin) can access.  Is this the best way to do this?  If so, how do I create this "parent site"?

Also, if the form is digitally signed right before it is submitted, does this mean no one will be able to open it, or even not be able to change it?

    Thanks.

    Hi Dragonight,

... in my personal opinion it is better to set item level security in a forms library. You can achieve this programmatically. In the following thread you will find useful links for setting item level security within managed code.

To your second question: Even you have digitally signed a form anybody can open it --- but no one is able to change the content --- as long as he don´t remove the digital signature what is possible all the time if you don´t prevent it programmatically.

    Hope this helps,

    Karsten

     Hi Karsten,

Thanks for your reply.  Do you know if there's a way to achieve something similar without coding?

    Thanks
