Can you attach a copy of your template so we can take a quick peek? Under the Options tab when you reply, you can attach a file.

"Oops something went wrong! Either the site is offline or an unhandled error occurred. We apologize and have logged the error. Please try your request again or if you know who your site administrator is let them know too." anyway GetRatingForSelectedProject is a secondary datasource (webservice) that returns vrating (the repeating row) based on parameter. After getting the data I want to copy from vrating to another table.... xpath: /dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/tns:GetRatingForSelectedProjectResponse/tns:GetRatingForSelectedProjectResult/NewDataSet/vRating thanks a lot /// btw my form is browser enabled

Re: qDabra Rules Copy Table not working for secondary datasource

It looks like your problem spot is:

    /rowsrc=/tns:vRating

According to your data source there should be no namespace here. Also you have a slash character that shouldn't be there. So it should be:

    /rowsrc=vRating

    Hope that helps.

Re: qDabra Rules Copy Table not working for secondary datasource

-- still not working same message:Failed to select the source table to copy from.

    CopyTable /dsnamesrc: GetRatingForSelectedProject /tablesrc=/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/tns:GetRatingForSelectedProjectResponse/tns:GetRatingForSelectedProjectResult/NewDataSet /rowsrc=vRating /tabledest=/dfs:myFields/my:group3 /rowdest=my:group4

finally  I could attach the file

Thanks a lot for your help

    First parameter is incorrect:

    /dsnamesrc: GetRatingForSelectedProject

    Should be:

    /dsnamesrc=GetRatingForSelectedProject

Re: qDabra Rules Copy Table not working for secondary datasource

    Thanks  a lot

    I fixed it

however, now I get the error:

The table row of the source and destination must contain the same number of elements and attributes.

I'm sure however I have the same number of fields...

I counted in your template, and yes, they seem to be the same.

Your web service returns a choice group -- I don't know if we've ever tested with that. Can you try with a secondary data connection to SQL or a web service that doesn't return a choice group?

Re: qDabra Rules Copy Table not working for secondary datasource

I don't know how to create a webservice without choice group ;) , it just comes that way....

(btw when the  (source) web service table is empty, the copyTable works, as soon as I fill it with data, it gives the said error!!)

    What I want to do:

I have the values to be updated in table1, what I want is to do is  update the values in table 1 via web services,
as far as I understand, I have to options:
    1. having one single update statement web service and calling it  for as many rows I have in my repeating table1
      1. for this I can use the  Execute Action  for as many rows as I have in table1?
    2. having an array like update statement web service  which retuerns a repeating table (table2) in infopath, then I need to populate table 2 by copying from  table1
      1. (which failed using CopyTable)
      2. I thought also about using insert, and then set each row in my new table2 to its couterpart from the source table1....
out of these options, what is doable
I hope what I am asking for is clear
thank you for your help and patience
