(i have also posted this at forums.asp.net: how do I display InfoPath 2007 "ink" signature in ASP.NET MVC? http://forums.asp.net/t/1450185.aspx)
InfoPath 2007 stores its forms in two parts: a .xsn template and a .xml data file.
InfoPath 2007 combines the .xsn/.xml files on screen to simulate a printed form.
InfoPath 2007 has a special control for "ink": basically, it lets you sign InfoPath 2007 documents.
The "ink" signatures are converted to some form of character encoding so that they can be stored as a character string inside of the .xml document. This has to be done this way because ultimately XML is character based.
I extract the data from the .xml files and store it in an SQL database. From there, I can display most of the data using ASP.NET MVC v1.0.
The one exception is that I do not know how to display the stored "ink" signature character string on my .aspx page.
My guess is that somehow the stored "ink" signature character string needs to be converted to a .gif of .jpg????
Any ideas?
Thank you.
