Add, Update, Delete SharePoint List with Infopath 2003 or SharePoint Form Service

We have most people in our organization on Infopath 2003.  We would like to be able to Add, Update, and Delete Custom Lists with Infopath.  Does DBXL shred to a list?  What I would like is for a form to open, query a list or sharepoint calendar for items, either update a current item or add a new item, and then have the form not save.  The list will be updated either using the regular list/Calendar edit in sharepoint or Infopath (so I can add more rules).  The reason I don't want the Infopath form saved is because I don't want the list to become out of sink with a form library or DBXL document library.  I just want the form to add, update, and delete straight from the sharepoint list.  I hope this makes sense?

    Hi, Jeff:

DBXL does not currently shred to a SharePoint list, but that is an interesting idea for a future feature request!

I thought so but thought I would check.  Thanks.

Funny coincidence. Hilary is working on a new version of qRules 2.0 that supports this exact scenario - all client side. We should have that out in 3-4 weeks. Do you want to beta test it? Send me e-mail.

qRules 2.0 will support mapping a form on submit to one or more SharePoint lists. It will also pull from those lists on open (if configured that way).

InfoPath 2010 also provides support for creating forms from lists and mapping to lists. The support is limited to simple list-like XML structures.

In the meantime, we have another tool that supports batch mapping XML to SharePoint lists - here's a link. As a DBXL customer, we can provide a free copy of this tool to you. Just let me know if it will work for your scenario and we'll send you the tool.

Hey Patrick.  That sounds awesome.  I would love it!!  I did see the batch mapping and that looks good as well.  It would be an ongoing Add, Update, Delete and not a isolated thing.

You got it! I'll ask suport to send you the batch mapping tool now and put a reminder in my calendar to send you qRules 2.0 in 3 weeks.
