Hello,

 I have a form template that is designed in 2007 w/managed code. The form opens great in 2007, however it will throw the followuing error in 2003.

•  Infopath cannot open the selected form because of an error in the form's code. Attempt to modify a read-only node"

Any ideas? Is my installation of 2003 missing a requirement?

2003 and 2007 have different object models, so code-based form templates built in one will not work in the other.  You said it was a 2003 template, but it can't be if you built it with code in 2007.  That means it's a 2007 template.

What I should have said was that I saved it as a 2003 template. I see, so the code will not translate..?? Thanks

Is there a way I can convert the code to make it compatible?

Different object model, so you'd need to build it accordingly.  I don't know of any auto-converter, but you can ask Jimmy Rishe or any other dev on this site.  When you plan to build a 2003-based template, you need to first tell your form that before doing it.  You go to Tools > Form Options > Programming and set it to 2003 C# or whatever.  You do this first, and then you build accordingly as it will only give you the option to build it in that object model.

on further investigation, in the programming section it states that it is C#(Infopath 2003 Compatyible)....Weird

You might want to try the technique in the top link, but I wouldn't recommend it, as it looks like a bit of a hack.  It would be better to figure out which code is causing the problem and try to fix it.  Does your form have an OnLoad event that is running code?  That might be where the problem is taking place.
