InfoPath Dev

Hi All,

 I have a fully functional IP 2007 form published in sharepoint form library. I want the data to be updated in MS Access Database at the same time. I cannot find the way to submit the data to an MS Access Database using InfoPath data connection. Any suggestions.

2 options:

1. Re-create the form template and build it using the Access database schema (choose database template upon creation)
2. Create a web service to interact with the existing Access DB and add it as a data connection to the form template

Once you've created the form template, you cannot add a data connection to submit to a DB - only to receive.

OK i will try to option of creating a web service to write into the MS Access database. Where should the web service be hosted (do you mean inside the form library where infopath is published). Can i have the MS Access database in a shared locatoin also??

No, not inside the form library.  The web service needs to be built on a server where InfoPath can access it, such as on the SharePoint server itself.

The DB _has_ to be in a shared location that is accessible to InfoPath and the users using InfoPath (permissions).
